'Baga, Biga, Higa:' A journey through the history of music in Basque language

A multimedia concert created and performed by the well-known Basque musicians Mikel Markez and Eñaut Elorrieta.

Baga, biga, higa —a title inspired by one of the most famous songs by Mikel Laboa— is a multimedia concert, an interactive recital that offers a journey through the history of music sang in the Basque language. Beginning before the sixties and going up to the present, it aims to spotlight Basque Culture and to encourage its transmission.

This project brings together Mikel Markez, a Basque singer-songwriter who has shared the stage with the most important Basque musicians, and Eñaut Elorrieta, lead singer of Ken Zazpi, the biggest selling group in the Basque Country nowadays and one of the few bands capable of filling concert venues with people of all ages.

This event is part of the Basque Cultural Exchange New York – Fall 2012, a program of cultural events organized by the Etxepare Basque Institute.
