Casals Festival de Puerto Rico presents the great Spanish director and musician Jordi Savall in concert on March 4th.

Jordi Savall is an exceptional figure in today’s music world. For more than thirty years he has been devoted to the rediscovery of neglected musical treasures: thirty years of research, study and interpretation, both as violist and musical director.

One of the most multifariously gifted musicians of his generation, his career as a concert performer, teacher, researcher and creator of new projects, both musical and cultural, make him one of the principal architects of the current revaluation of historical music.

This time he is visiting Puerto Rico as a performer and director of his music group, Herpèrion XXI, and also of the Mexican Tembembe Ensamble Continuo. The concert titled Folias Antiguas y criollas: las rutas del Nuevo Mundo (Ancent and creole Folias: routes of the New World) includes Iberian, Mexican and traditional Latin American repertoire.
