27th Annual Day of the Hispanic World

Houston celebrates the 27th Annual Day of the Hispanic World (Día de la Hispanidad) at the Miller Outdoor Theater in Hermann Park.

This two and half hour presentation includes a variety of the music, song and dance of the Hispanic World featuring as the main act the Asociación Cultural L’Aljama de Bétera from Valencia, Spain, dancing and singing jotas and other Valencian tradicional dances; they will be accompanied by other groups representing jotas from Mexico, the Philippines and Venezuela.

The second act will feature three male Hispanic vocalists: Alvaro E. Hurtado (Colombia), Rey Reyes (Dominican Republic) and Alejandro Salvia Cobas (Cuba) accompanied by the Orquesta Volcán (Texas).

This event is free to the public who can enjoy it either from the covered seats or skating on the hill while having a picnic. No glass containers are allowed.
