'Medea got some issues'
Medea's Got Some Issues is both a madcap parody and a tribute to Euripides' classic tragedy.
Ana Asensio stars in the North American English premiere of this one-woman show by Madrid's native, award-winning playwright Emilio Williams.
More than 2,400 years after the world premiere of her tragedy, Medea finally presents, with no inhibitions, all the mitigating factors surrounding her infamous case: from the sexual haste of her husband Jason, who is leaving her for a younger princess, to the overwhelmingly misogynistic and anti-immigration sentiments pervasive in their new hometown, Corinth.
Medea's got some issues, written by Spanish playwright Emilio Williams and performed by Ana Asensio, will premiere at KGB -The Red Room Theatre on Wednesday October 19th at 8pm. Additional performances will be held Wednesdays on October 26th, November 2nd and November 9th at 6:30pm and 8:30pm.
Tickets available for purchase at the door for $18 ($15 students and seniors) and online for $15.
