Digital 21 @ DC’S 'Art all Night'

Electro music and visual art session by DJ Digital 21 as a part of the first ever Washington DC’s Nuit Blanche.

Art All Night : Nuit Blanche DC is an all-night exploration and celebration of contemporary art, stretching from the heart of Chinatown to the Shaw neighborhood. Teaming up with DC's Alliance Francaise and Art Soiree, the event at the former Wonder Bread factory will add a unique twist to the happenings of the festival, by offering numerous artistic performances. Spanish DJ and visual artist Digital 21 will take part on a line up that will also include live performances, graffiti art, video screenings and light happenings.

Digital 21 is Miguel López Mora. Musician, singer, songwriter, producer, arranger, director of video, visual designer and producer of the '90s has since worked tirelessly as Spain’s pioneer in live electronic music, using real instruments and incorporating the strength of the guitar, bass, drums, etc.

In his four albums to date he has composed, arranged and played all the instruments in each of the songs, remaining true to his artistic concept of total independence and coherence of all audio-visual creation. In his 20-year career, he has performed in festivals of all kinds with his energetic live electronic music (Benicassim International Festival, Sonar Festival, Klubbers Festival, Sziget Festival, Actual, Sonorama Festival, Santirock, Ecopop Festival, Goa, FIMA, etc.).

In addition to his impact in Spain, prestigious music figures worldwide have shown interest in his work. Some examples are Invisible Limits, who invited him to sing his flagship version of Joy Division in his farewell concert, Stefan Olsdal of Placebo, with whom he has been working in recent years, Paul Schroeder (Stone Roses producer, The Verve, The Others, Beth Orton. etc.) and Mr. Marsh who is responsible for mastering all the Lps by Chemical Brothers, Björk, Daft Punk, etc.

His music videos are scripted, assembled and led by himself. He is also a professor of Conducting at the Music School of Art and Technology of Madrid (Artenet), where he also teaches Ableton Live. Digital 21 is, along with artists such as Daft Punk, Nine Inch Nails, Richie Hawtin, Mogwai, Sasha (DJ), John Digweed, DJ Krush, or Hot Chip, one of the artists in Ableton Live.
