'FreeRice': A Game to Learn Spanish and Fight World Hunger

Instituto Cervantes New York and the United Nations World Food Programme launch the Spanish version of the Internet game FreeRice, a multimedia tool to combat world hunger through the learning of languages.

Currently, over 53 million people suffer the terrible effects of hunger and malnutrition in Latin America and the Caribbean. The economic crisis that shook the world in 2008 has dramatically affected the most vulnerable. It is therefore essential, now more than ever, to promote activities that reduce the devastating impact of this global crisis.
