Author Larrie D. Ferreiro presents the Enlightenment Expedition that Reshaped Our World at the Embassy of Spain.

Author Larrie D. Ferreiro will present his book Measure of the Earth, the Enlightenment Expedition that Reshaped Our World about the 18th-century French-Spanish expedition to the equator in the Viceroyalty of Peru (today's Ecuador) to determine the true shape of the Earth.

The multimedia presentation will be in English, although the author will be available to answer questions in Spanish and French.

Dr. Ferreiro is an award-winning author and historian of science and technology. He teaches systems engineering at the Catholic University of America and George Mason University, as well as directing research for a major government university. He has worked in the U.S. Navy, U.S. Coast Guard, the French Navy and the British Navy. He recently co-hosted a Spanish symposium on the ships at the Battle of Trafalgar.
