Miami International Book Fair: Transatlantic Conversations

Miami International Book Fair: Transatlantic Conversations

Transatlantic Conversations offers four conversations, each between two renowned writers, one from Latin America and the other from Spain.

In this series, dialogue is used to both communicate and surprise you. In these times of globalization, social networks and cyber relationships, we yearn for in-depth conversation. This encounter brings together two great minds in the perfect stage, Miami, a city known for connecting cultures and languages. Such an open-minded setting is the perfect place for these Transatlantic Conversations.

The program offers four conversations, each between two renowned writers, one from Latin America and the other from Spain. We do not believe in the Atlantic Ocean as a separator, but rather as a bridge, and we celebrate this with a series of talks that will take place from the 18th to the 20th of November as part of the Miami International Book Fair. With Spanish as their primary linkage, the eight authors participating in Transatlantic Conversations show why the language is on the rise. This city is the perfect scenario because of its combination of U.S. and Latin American cultures.

Agustín Fernández Mallo (Spain), Espido Freire (Spain), Margo Glantz (Mexico), Vicente Molina Foix (Spain), Alan Pauls (Argentina), Edmundo Paz Soldán (Bolivia), Sergio Ramírez (Nicaragua) and Jorge Volpi (Mexico) are the protagonists of Transatlantic Conversations.
