Roundtable discussion: Borges at our Library

Twenty-five years after the death of Jorge Luis Borges, the Library at Instituto Cervantes New York, named after him since 2003, wishes to honor him and his works.

In this roundtable discussion, participants will analyze the significance of books and libraries in Borges’ works, as well as the diaries of Adolfo Bioy Casares on Borges, which give us surprising access into the mind of the Argentinian writer.

The roundtable discussion will be followed by the screening of a surprise film of 122 minutes in length, in Spanish with English subtitles.

Participants: Arturo Echavarría, Isaías Lerner and Alfred Mac Adam. Organized by Instituto Cervantes New York in collaboration with The Graduate Center of The City University of New York (CUNY) and the General Consulate of Argentina in New York.
