Freud and Stalin in Mexico

A discussion of the clash between psychoanalysis and Stalinism in Mexico during the 1930s.

The talk will be based on Freud's Mexico, the first cultural history of psychoanalysis in Mexico. Rubén Gallo is the author of Freud's Mexico (MIT, 2010), Mexican Modernity (MIT, 2005), and The Mexico City Reader (2004). He is the director of the Program in Latin American Studies at Princeton University.
