'The Way' by Emilio Estévez
Emilio Estévez directs Martin Sheen in this film about a search through the Way of Saint James in Galicia, Spain.
Estévez's latest film, starring Martin Sheen (Estévez’s father), is an extraordinary film about an American doctor who travels through el Camino de Santiago (The Way of Saint James) to finish what his son couldn't. Equipped with his son’s backpack and guidebook, Tom (the main character) begins his pilgrimage through this historic 800km path leaving behind his "California bubble life."
The screening will be followed by a reception for the participants. This event is presented as part of the new program of Pilgrimage Studies by a Consortium of Universities.
